What you find might be surprising - even shocking.

As parents, we entrust our children to school administrators and staff. At the least, we expect our schools to follow federal and state laws, as well as their own policies.

Unfortunately, Prosper ISD has underwent extreme growth in the past 10 years, and apparently that growth has led to a lack of training and oversight of some of its teachers, support staff and even a few administrators.

Texas' education regulatory agency - TEA - found that Prosper ISD was not properly following state law which requires parents to be notified when a special needs student is restrained. This same agency also found that the school did not properly implement a special needs student's Individual Education Plan as required by federal law.

Concerned?

Worried about what is happening at Prosper Schools? So are we!

Prosper ISD Watch was created by parents who are concerned for our children. Find out the truth about our schools and what you can do to help make them a better place!

Public Information Act requests found emails and reports that showed Prosper ISD staff telling a student they were wasting the staff's time. These same documents have shown teachers and staff have allowed a student to be injured at school without any notification to their parents. Documentation has also been obtained that shows Prosper ISD provides every child access to dangerous weapons within the classrooms.

It is the hope of this site that by bringing public attention to these issues, school administrators can be held accountable to ensure such issues are quickly remedied and not allowed to occur again. After all, we pay the salaries of evey person at Prosper ISD - they are OUR employees. They need to know that while we support them in educating our children, we do not support them blindly. We will not stand for inequality, discrimination, retaliation, or illegal acts directed to ANY child.
